PURPOSE:To prevent accumulation and rise of residual electric charge in repeated uses, and to obtain a good image, by dispersing a fine powder of a metal or a metal oxide into a binder resin, and forming the protective layer of a photoreceptor out of this dispersion. CONSTITUTION:In fabrication of an electrophotographic receptor having a protective layer usable for the carlson process, a photoconductive layer is formed on a conductive substrate made of aluminum or the like, and a protective layer containing a powder of a metal or metal oxide having <=0.3mmu average particle diameter dispersed into a binder resin is formed on the photoconductive layer to serve as a desired photoreceptor. A polyurethane or polyester resin or the like superior in electrically insulating property, strength, adhesiveness, etc. is used as the binder resin, and copper, iron, aluminum, zinc oxide, titanium oxide, etc. are used as the metal or its oxide in a binder resin/metal or metal oxide weight ratio of 100/(5-500) to form a protective layer. |
