PURPOSE:To increase the print speed and to enable efficient print control, by using an intermittent feeding system when the carriage moving amount is less and a continuous feeding system in other cases. CONSTITUTION:The carriage feeding information from an input port 21 is judged with a carriage moving amount discrimination circuit 42 in a controller 23. As a result, when the amount of movement is within a specified value, a VDC signal to switch from the speed control to position control is applied to a space control section 30 from an output control section 27 through a VDC signal line 43. Thus, a servo circuit is switched to the position control for intermittent operation. If the carriage feeding information is more than the specified value, the control section 30 is switched with a VDC signal to be a constant speed feeding to move the carriage through the advance of the address (VA) speed set indicating the set speed and the space address (SA). |
