<p>A device for varying and controlling the angle of contact on drums, esp. on the heated or cooled drums of double belt presses for use in the heat treatment of plastic foil strips before they enter a reaction zone, uses two jockey pulleys. The foil strips pass from the reels over a jockey pulley to the heated or cooled lead-in drums of an endless belt press. Their angle of contact with the drums which determines the heat transfer is fixed by the angular position of the jockey pulleys. These are mounted on cranked levers which can be angularly adjusted by power cylinders. This creates a simple way of adjusting the heat transfer rate to the foils.</p> |
