The device for attaching objects to the walls of a building is used for the fitting of brittle items of equipment in cloakrooms. It is used where one or more attachment points are provided on the building wall. Butt straps (2) are fitted between the building wall (1) and the object being attached. In each case they have at one end connecting devices for the object and include at the other end an elongated hole (4) or a slot for the insertion of a wall attachment screw (3). The butt strap (2) is made from a relatively flexible material relative to the degree of rigidity of the item being attached.
