PURPOSE:To increase the utilizing efficiency of picked-up light, by using an additive complementary color filter for at least one of a red color passing filter or blue color passing filter forming a color filter. CONSTITUTION:An additive complementary color filter 21 for color coding is provided on a pickup plane of a charge coupling element 11. The element 11 outputs a point sequential image sensing output signal with drive circuits 34, 35 operated according to the reference clock signal. This signal is applied to a luminance level adjuster 51 and a signal separation circuit 40 via an amplifier 36. The signal separation circuit 40 converts a chroma signal into a simultaneous signal and applies it to matrix circuits 41, 42. The matrix circuit 41 makes signal synthesis. The adjustment of signal level is made for the chroma signal being the output of the circuit 41 at a white balance adjuster 43, color difference signal is formed with a matrix circuit 45 and an image sensing signal is synthesized from the color difference signal and luminance signal with an encoder 60. |
