The initial mixture for producing a liquid fodder mix consists of grain, corn on the cobs, with added fluid such as water, whey, slops and similar. The mixture is kept for some period in a tank (11) for softening, followed by shredding. The shredding is carried out by pump (8) with a combined cutter/impeller assembly. The pre-shredded mixture is discharged via a pipe (7) and a three-way gate (6) to a second shredder pump (3) where the material is further reduced in particle size, while the pump recirculates the content of the tank (11). When the mixture is sufficiently ground, forming a free-flowing fodder, the three-way gate (6) is operated and the pump (3) delivers the fodder via a pipe (10) to the respective feeding troughs. |
