Rubbish disposal method using solid fuel stove - uses refuse box retained at top of feed chute while opened by cutting flap

The method of disposing of rubbish by burning it on a domestic solid fuel stove, uses cube shaped boxes (21) to handle the refuse. The stove has a combustion chamber (1) with a feed shaft (7) at the top, with an opening (10) shaped to support the box while it is opened by a sliding flap (12) with a cutting blade (13) incorporated in the frame (11) round the opening. This allows the contents to fall from the shaft into the combustion region without causing dust externally, and where the grate (3) is vibrated by a motor with an eccentric drive. The ash chamber below the grate is shaped so that the empty box can be used to collect ashes. Another design has a hopper which can be tilted for a controlled charging action, incorporating the feed shaft, and with a connection to the vibratory grate.
