PURPOSE:To indicate the sizes of copying paper to be set, etc. clearly, when copies of respective copying magnifications corresponding to original sizes are possible and impossible, by calculating and displaying a magnification which corresponds to the sizes of an original and copying paper and the size of the copying paper based upon the size of the original and the magnification. CONSTITUTION:According to a detected original size and a copying-paper size read out from storing circuits 40 and 41, an arithmetic circuit 42 consisting of a group of gate circuits calculates possible magnifications which correspond to the original size and copying-paper size, and they are displayed in display windows 34a, 35a and 35b. On the basis of the displays, a copy of each magnification corresponding to the original size is found possible or impossible. According to the original size from a circuit 40 and outputs of inverters 56-58 which correspond to respective magnifications, the 2nd arithmetic circuit 55 calculates applied copying-paper sizes by magnifications corresponding to the original size to display them in the display windows 34b, 35b and 36b. Therefore, the copying-paper size to be set for each impossible copying magnification is found and a variable-magnification copying machine having excellent operability is obtained. |
