PURPOSE:To prevent the corrosion of an engine using fuel mixed with alcohol due to combustion gas by coating the surfaces of engine parts made of Al with Sn or an Sn-Zn alloy. CONSTITUTION:When gasoline mixed with alcohol or lower alcohol alone such as methanol or ethanol is used as fuel for a car, Sn plated layers are formed on the surfaces of parts such as a carburetor and a fuel pump made of Al by chemical plating in 1-5mum thickness, or Sn-Zn plated layers are formed by electroplating. Thus, the corrosion of said parts made of Al due to alcohol and water contained in alcohol is prevented. |
