PURPOSE:To obtain a magnetic recording medium having an excellent travelling stability and durability, by securing the content of a specific denatured organic silicone compound into a magnetic and thus improving both the lubricity and wear resistance. CONSTITUTION:A denatured organic silicone compound denatured by the dicarboxylic acid, clialcohol, diamine or the like (such as succinic acid, ethylene glycol, ethylene diamine) of carbon number 2-20 and shown by a formula (Z: dicarboxylic acid residue, dialcohol residue, diamine residue, etc.; n=0-1,000) is put into a magnetic layer in a ratio of about 0.1-10wt% to the magnetic powder. In other words, a magnetic coating material obtained by kneading the above-mentioned denatured organic silicone compound, the magnetic powder, a binder and an organic solvent is coated and dried on a substrate of polyester or the like to form a magnetic layer. In such way, a magnetic recording medium is obtained. |
