PURPOSE:To expand a working voltage range of a series regulator, and to make an auxiliary resistance inexpensive, by detecting the sum of emitter currents of plural transistors which have been connected in parallel between a current balancing resistance and one terminal of a current detecting auxiliary resistance. CONSTITUTION:Collector voltage (voltage of an output terminal 3) of transistors 6(1)-6(n) is controlled so as to be constant, by control voltage from a controlling circuit 1, and each emitter current of transistors 6(1)-6(n), which flows in this case is added through current balancing resistances 7(1)-7(n) of a resistance value R1, and flows into an input terminal 2. On the other hand, to each emitter are connected current detecting auxiliary resistances 8(1)-8(n) of a resistance value R2, and other ends are connected to each other. Release voltage V which is generated between current detecting terminals 4, 5 does not exert influence on a current balancing characteristic in case of R2>>R1, becomes Vproportional I(the sum of each emitter current), and V is used as current detecting voltage. |
