PURPOSE:To perform simultaneous quantitative analysis for the plural invisible spot samples developing on a thin-layer chromatography by directly adapting the principle of opto-acoustic effect to the thin-layer chromatography itself. CONSTITUTION:The light emitted from a light source 1 passes through a light chopper 2, the intermittent light therefrom is swept and irradiates locally through the lighting window 23 of an opto-acoustic unit 3 onto the surface of the thin-layer chromatography contained in the recess 33 of a vessel 30. The sounds produced from the samples are received through sound conducting grooves 36, 46, in a microphone inserted into a cylindrical hole 43. The signals of the chopper 2 and the opto- acoustic signals from the microphone are inputted to a lock-in amplifier 5, by which they are amplified, thence the change in the intensity of the opto-acoustic signals is recorded in a recorder 6 along with lapse of time. Thereby, the components developed and separated on the thin-layer chromatography separated from the mixed samples are determined without applying and coloring treatment at all. |
