<p>PURPOSE:To improve the yield of production of a structural shapes, by practicing a rolling work while keeping the thickness ratio of the web to the flange at an aimed value as exactly as possible, giving priority to the control of the elongation to be obtained by the rolling work. CONSTITUTION:The thickness changes DELTATWi, DELTATFi respectively in the web and flange caused in the i-th pass of n-passes in total to be practiced by a roughing universal mill, are obtained from equation I and II. Equation III is then established with a ratio (g) of the feed-in side elongation ane the run-out side elongation of the mill, to be obtained at the (i+1)th pass; reference screw positions SHi+1, SVi+1 respectively of a horizotal roll and a vertical roll; thickness TWi, TFi and temeperatures thetaWi, thetaFi respectively of the web and flange on the feed-in side of the i-th pass; deviation (l) of actually measured length from an aimed length Li after finishing the i-th pass; and an aimed length Li+1 after finishing the (i+1)th pass. If there is an equation related to the deviation of screw positions for the horizontal roll and vertical roll practicing the (i+1)th pass, the adjustments to be given to the screw positions of the horizontal roll and vertical roll at the (i+1)th pass can be determined from equation III.</p> |
