PURPOSE:To facilitate setting device numbers of package unit storage devices, by converting and generating a package unit designation signal corresponding to address information on an address bus when the system is initialized. CONSTITUTION:A converting circuit 12 has a conversion table between package positions of respective package unit storage devices 21A-21D and addresses which are generated by the initializing program of the system. Address information on an address bus 30 is converted to a package position designation signal and is transmitted to a package unit designation bus 40. Respective devices 21A-21D of a main storage device 20 take in the signal on the bus 40 and compare and collate it with package position information from their own package unit information designating circuits 24A-24D by coincidence detecting circuits 23A-23D. If they coincide with each other as the result, it is discriminated that devices 21A-21D to which circuits 24A-24D belong are designated, and storage module parts 22A-22D are started. Thus, pertinent module parts 22A-22D select a designated address and read and write data. |
