PURPOSE:To perform excellent reproduction by providing an elevating means of supporting the base side of a cantilever and operating vertically to and from a disk, and a means of rotating horizontally the cantilever which should displace a playback stylus in the width direction of a guide groove, and by operating both the means in relation to each other. CONSTITUTION:A pickup device 1 has a vertical driving mechanism 7 driven in a direction Y perpendicular to the signal surface of a video disk 2, and the base side of a cantilever 6 is fitted to a fitting block 20 reciprocating in the direction Y by being driven by the mechanism 7. The cantilever 6 is shorter than usual, and the driving mechanism 7 operates following up fluctuations of the surface of the video disk 2 at the position of the pickup device 1 and, in special case, elevates the playback stylus 5 from a track groove. |
