PURPOSE:To prepare the titled composition having high dispersion stability and capable of forming a coating film free from skim and cracks, by dispersing thermosetting resin particles and an adduct of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide with a symmetric diol, in an aqueous medium. CONSTITUTION:The objective composition is prepared by dispersing (A) pref. 100pts.wt. of thermosetting resin particles and (B) pref. 1-20pts.wt. of an adduct (e.g. the compound of formula II) of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide with a symmetric diol having a molecular weight of 90-300 (e.g. the compound of formula I), in an aqueous medium. The component (A) is pref. the one having an average particle diameter of 3-50mu and a softening temperature of 30-120 deg.C, and the component (B) is pref. obtained by adding 4-100mol of ethylene oxide or propylene oxide to 1mol of the diol.
