PURPOSE:To prevent the discharge from flying to the encapsulating section and to prevent the occurrence of discharge spot, by coating the encapsulation surface theta at the end of a light emission tube with a heat-resistance insulator. CONSTITUTION:Alumina heat-resistant inorganic adhesive paste is coated on the surface of the encapsulating section 27 at both ends of a high pressure sodium lamp light emission tube 1 then burnt at 200 deg.C, for example, and coated with heat-resistant insulator 28. Consequently the flying phenomena of discharge to the encapsulating section 27 can be eliminated and the occurrence of discharge spot at the encapsulating section can be prevented. |
