A novel random ethylene (0.3-5 wt.%)-propylene copolymer has melt flow 0.1-10 g./10 min., ratio of wt. average to number average mol. wt. (Mw/Mn) above 6.5:1, Ti content not exceeding 2 ppm., Mg content not exceeding 40 ppm., Cl content not exceeding 100 ppm. and total ash content not exceeding 40 ppm. Polymer shows good processability at low temps. and press. when extruded or moulded. It can be used to prepare fibres, filaments, films, rigid articles and bottles. It may be prepd. at low temps. and press. with high catalyst productivity.
