PURPOSE:To improve the quality of a picture, by setting the output density level at a certain value up to a certain level of density and giving a linear increse to the output density level when the value exceeds the input density level. CONSTITUTION:The input picture signal Si is supplied successively to an adder 40 and integrated in the timing of a clock signal. A divider 41 functions to obtain an average of the result of integration equivalent to a scanning line, and the density level alpha is decided by the output of the divider 41. Both this division and the input to a memory 44 or 45 are carried out in the timing from a completion of addition equivalent to a scanning line of the adder 40 through a start of addition of the next scanning line. Buffer resisters 42 and 43 can accumulate the information equivalent to a scanning line respectively, and work alternately by a command of a control device. The memories 44 and 45 accumulate respectively the average density information of a scanning line corresponding to the registers 42 and 43. A code converter 47 calculates a curve of compensation shown in the figure by the output alpha of a selector 46. |
