Pollution control by the wet oxidation of wastewaters with an oxygen-containing gas at high temp and press. was described. Wastewaters are wet oxidized with the addition of oxygen; the oxygen is 1st mixed with 0.01-10 parts by wgt. of water/part by wgt. of oxygen to prevent spontaneous combustion during mixing of the wastes with the oxygen.
