<p>PURPOSE:To obtain expandable writing utensile which give a solid effect and soft feel, by a method wherein an expandable material is incorporated into an org. or inorg. compsn. for various writing utensils, and the mixt. is enclosed in a container or is molded into a shape suitable for writing. CONSTITUTION:An org. material (e.g. a synthetic resin or a synthetic rubber) or an inorg. material (e.g. plaster or metal powder) as such is mixed with an expandable material (e.g. a micro-capsule type expandable material or dinitrosopentamethylenetetramine). Alternativel, said org. or inorg. material is dissolved or dispersed in an org. solvent (e.g. an arom hydrocarbon), an inorg. solvent (e.g. an inorg. acid) or water, and then mixed with said expandable material. Then resulting compsn. is charged in a shaped container in which shape the compsn. can be used as writing utensils. Alternatively, said compsn. is molded into a shape suitable for writing, e.g., into the shape of chalk to use it as writing utensils. When the writing is made with these writing utensils and the handwriting is heated by a heating means such as a drier, the compsn. is expanded and there can be obtd. letters, figures, pictures, etc. which give simultaneously a solid effect and soft feel.</p> |
