<p>Device in an internal combustion engine for supplying water vapour to the intake gases of the engine, the water vapour being generated by heating of water or an aqueous mixture from a container (1) by means of the heat of the exhaust gases leaving the engine. The water vapour is generated in at least one steam generation member (7) of a heat conducting material arranged between the container (1) and the intake pipe of the engine, which steam generation member (7) is at least partially in contact with the exhaust gases and comprises a chamber (8) having at least one liquid inlet opening (6) and at least one outlet (9a, 9b) for the generated steam, and means (5) for maintaining a predetermined liquid level in the chamber (8), said steam generation member (7) preferably being arranged at or close to the exhaust port of the engine block. </p> |
