<p>Working plate or panel, esp. for work tables and benches, comprises two or more layers; the lower layer is of a rigid material, esp. wood, to provide structural strength, while the upper layer which forms the working surface is elastic, tough and not easily scratched, being esp. of natural or synthetic rubber or a similar material. Both these layers are firmly bonded together, esp. by pressure and heat, optionally also with glue. The rubber or similar material forming the working surface pref. has a shore A hardness of 80-100 (96-97). The ratio of thickness of the wooden base layer to the rubber facing is pref. 4-7 (6). This composite board has the advantage of a high wear resistance of the surface and no dangerous sharp edges at the working surface.</p> |
