PURPOSE:To ensure an assured prevention for the paper jam of a fixing device, by providing a guide member at the paper exhaustion side of a pressure roll with the tip part touching the circumference surface of the pressure roll and at the same time installing a paper holding saucer near the guide member. CONSTITUTION:A guide member 17 supported by a fixed member 16 stuck to the machine frame is installed nearly vertical to the side of the pressure roll 11. The member 17 is made of a metal or plastic thin plate having an elasticity and touches the circumference surface of the roll 11 of the paper exhaustion side at the tip side. A paper holding saucer 18 is provided under the member 17 by making use of the space area of the main body 1 to store the paper 8 taken off out of the circumference surface of the roll 11. In such constitution, if the passing of the subsequent paper is blocked by a jam caused by the paper passed through a fixing device, the subsequent paper is exhausted onto the saucer 18 and is never stuck round the roll 11. Thus a paper jam can be assuredly prevented. |
