An assembly separates light liquids such as oil and grease (4) from a heavier liquid (2) in a separation basin (1) having an elongated gully (5) with two rims (6, 7) and two elongated ends (8). The gully swivels on a horizontal axle (11) between a rest position and a discharge position. The gully is located in the separation basin such that in the discharge position one of the rims (7) extends into the heavier fluid, and the other (6) projects from the heavier fluid.
