The hot air underfloor distribution ductwork comprises a spinal flow and return duct (1). The duct is divided horizontally into two halves and the upper duct is again split into a flow duct (2) and a return duct (3). The latter is connected at the extreme end into the lower return duct (4). The upper flow duct is of gradually reducing cross section, while the upper return duct (3) is of gradually increasing cross section. This is achieved by arranging a vertical division plate (5) diagonally inside the rectangular duct. Air outlets (4) at intervals along the supply duct feed closed loop air ducts which have an outlet (12) connected into the upper return air duct (3). The tapering flow and return ducts ensure a balanced flow into the transverse closed loops.
