Mixer valve for e.g. shower cold-hot water supply - has temp. regulator for delivered flow using rotary valve element within mixer chamber

The mixer valve has the different flows fed via respective lines to a mixer chamber (14) containing a rotatable valve element. This is in the form of a balance arm acted on by the temp. regulator (2), with its opposing end faces (62) cooperating with the two flow inlets (12,13), to regulate each flow in accordance with the rotary position of the balance arm. The balance arm comprises a permanent magnet (6) and is adjusted via a magnetic field, its intensity providing a required deflection of the balance arm from its rest position. The temp. of the delivered flow is detected electrically and compared with a reference value, with the difference used to provide a corresponding adjustment of the magnetic field. The mixer valve is simple to mfr. and easily combined with an electrical temp. regulator.
