PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a protection materials to eliminate a step difference generated between two rails at a low cost capable of performing the mounting operation between rails simply, leaving it steadily, easy to be deformed in the vertical direction when a load is applied, and capable of absorbing an eventually generated step difference between two rails. SOLUTION: A protection material 1 to eliminate a step difference generated between two rails is composed of an elastic substance 1a made from a comparatively hard rubber sheet and an elastic substance 1b made from a comparatively soft rubber sheet, the two overlapping each other, and is installed between a trunk rail 2 and guide rail 3 with adhesive or the like interposed in between. The two elastic members 1a and 1b have base ends across the width (on the side with guide rail) adhered to each other in such a way as no capable of being separated while their free ends (the side with the trunk rail) are coordinated so that the two can make deformation individually through the part 1c remaining out of adhesion. When a load is applied to the protection material 1, the elastic members 1a and 1b are easily deformed in the vertical direction, and a step difference generated eventually after deformation can be properly adsorbed between the two rails 2 and 3.
