NEW MATERIAL:The alkali-resistant cellulase K-577 having molecular weight peaks at about 17,000 and about 30,000 and having the following enzymological properties. Action, acting to CMC, cellulose powder, avicel, filter paper, etc., to form reducing sugars such as glucose; working pH and optimum pH, working pH range is 3-12, optimum pH is 7 and stable at pH5-12; optimum temperature, working temperature is 15-75 deg.C and optimum temperature is 60 deg.C; inhibitors, inhibited by Hg<2+> and uninhibited by surfactant and chelating agent. USE:The enzyme can be suitably used as a detergent composition for clothes. PREPARATION:Bacillus sp. KSM-577 (FERM P-9012) is cultured in a nutrient medium, the obtained cells are disintegrated and the objective enzyme is separated and purified from the disintegrated cell liquid. |
