PURPOSE:To obtain a high-productivity plant which permits molding of an ingot free from any surface defect and safe operation by providing a pouring nozzle for a tundish with a control means for the molten steel level in the inside and a control means for the clearance between the shoe plates of a pair of endless track shoe belts. CONSTITUTION:The leading end part 16 of a pouring nozzle 2a projected to a proper place on one side in the lower part of the side wall of a tundish 2 is inserted via a clearance 15 into the mold formed between the shoe plates 11 of a pair of endless track shoe belts 10 which are driven in a prescribed direction. The size of the clearance 15 is detected by the sensors buried circumferentially at equal intervals on the outside circumferential surface of the end part 16 and the sensors emit the correction signals for twisting, biasing, etc. of the end part 16, then the proper clearance 15 that prevents leakage of the molten steel is maintained by the fine adjusters 18 of the vertical direction of the tundish 2. Molten steel 14 is continuously poured from the end part 16 into the mold consisting of the multiple plates 11 and at a prescribed speed it is transferred into a secondary cooling zone 4 where it is solidified to an ingot 12 which is drawn by a device 5. In this case, the molten steel level in the tundish 2 is controlled, whereby the proper static pressure of molten steel is maintained and the generation of the defects of the ingot is prevented. |
