<p>The engine has a crankcase (16) with a fuel air mixture inlet formed by the junction of two branches (13,14). Each branch comes from its own carburettor (9,15). A rotary valve (8) controls the flow of mixture through the inlet into the crankcase. The valve is driven by a belt drive from the crankshaft. The valve has two profiled discs (10,11) on a common shaft. The left hand disc (10) controls the inlet (13) from the left hand carburettor and the right hand disc (11) controls the inlet (14) from the right hand carburettor. The construction allows a raoid opening of the inlet passages.</p> |
