The cleaning machine comprises a combination of a spray and suction system. It applies and removes chemicals to dissolve the dirt with a mechanical brush or scrubbing unit which can be switched on when required. A brush strip is pref. provided which can be lowered from a neutral inoperative position into an active position so that when the chemical solution fails to remove the dirt particles extra pressure and cleaning action can be achieved by using the brush.
