A window assembly adapted to be retrofitted to a vehicle having a panel with an aperture therein. The assembly comprising a frame of transparent sheet material having opposed first and second surfaces and an opening therein, a track means disposed on the second surface adapted to support a pane that can be slidably moved relative to the track means thereby allowing the pane to selectively cover and uncover the opening. The frame is adapted to be mounted to the vehicle such that at least a portion of second surface abuts against the exterior of the panel surrounding the aperture.
