PURPOSE:To increase the initial performance as well as the life performance of a lead acid battery, by constituting an assembled element using positive plates containing a graphite of a large anisotropy, and pressing the assembled element at a given pressure. CONSTITUTION:A positive plate is made of a paste containing a graphite of a high anisotropy, which is prepared by subjecting natural graphite to heat treatment at a high temperature. An assembled element is made by the combination on negative plates and thus prepared positive plates. The assembled element is inserted in a container, before it is pressed at a pressure of 30-50kg/cm<2>, thereby a lead acid battery being constituted. |
