PURPOSE:To make highly accurate measurement possible by applying staircase joggling to one end of a test piece and forming grooves on the outside circumferential surface. CONSTITUTION:An oscillator 5 for ultrasonic wave transmission and reception is provided by welding or the like on one end face 2 of a test piece 1 to be measured which is formed with annular or spiral grooves 4 on the outside circumference, by which the ultrasonic wave reflection from the outside circumferential surface is erased and eliminated and which propagates and reflects the ultrasonic waves with good reproducibility according to elastic constants. On the other hand, the other end 3 of the test piece 1 is formed of parallel planes 3a, 3b having a level difference, by which heat equalizing characteristic is improved, the temp. elevation of the oscillator 5 is prevented, and the highly accurate measurement of modulus of elasticity is carried out in high-temp. measurement as well. |
