Lorry with side loading hoist - has servo drive on folding side-walls for increased access

The side hoist for a lorry has a servo operated drive to lift the folding sidewalls and transfer the load from the lorry to the ground. This enables the vehicle to be operated in confined spaces and without having to move around the rear of the vehicle. The sidewall drops down into a stabilised horizontal position. Rack and pinion drives are located in hollow support uprights and operated by servo motors. For improved versatility the hoist can lift the load above the level of the lorry load surface to enable high loading ramps to be reached.
