<p>PURPOSE:To improve the safety against flame and ensure a high safety margin by finely dividing cracking of a tank due to temperature in and outside the tank with numerous vertical grooves provided on the outer surface of the tank for storing a low temperature liquid or the like. CONSTITUTION:Numerous grooves 3 are provided on the outer surface 2 of a concrete tank 1. When an adjacent tank causes a fire, water sprayed on the top of the tank runs down along the grooves 3 evenly covering the outer surface 2 of the tank. In addition, the grooves increase the outer surface area thereof to improve dissipation of heat thereby ensuring the safety margin of the tank 1. Even if developed due to difference in the temperature in and outside the tank 1, any cracking can be divided finely with an aid of the groove 3 to a minimal width thereby improving the safety margin.</p> |
