Safety grip for bicycle handlebars - has elastic end braced by insert spring and ball

The bicycle handlebars safety grip has an elastic sleeve (2) to slide over the ends of the handlebars and with a ball end (4) of elastic material to protect from injury if struck by the handlebars. The inside of the grip is reinforced by a steel spiral spring embedded in the material. The ball end can be softened by inclusions of plastics granules. These provide a soft springing without affecting the strength of the grip. The grip can be covered with a reflecting coating and linked to the handlebars by a flexible section.
