PURPOSE:To enable the erasure for entire width for magnetic tape in full width recording by means of the erasing head contained in one case, by using the erasing head cut with a slope according to the number of tracks. CONSTITUTION:The 1st and 2nd erasing head elements 12, 13 formed by cutting one erasing head with a slope are contained in the erasing head case 1. Since the gap of the head element 13 and that of the head element 12 are overlapped by a slope of the track planes 14, 15 which are allowed to contact with the 1st track erasing head element 12 at upper side and the 2nd track erasing head 13 at lower side, the signal on the magnetic tape 4 on which recording is made with full width can be erased. Further, in case of 4 tracks in addition to 2 tracks, the full width erasure can be made with the location of 4 erasing head elements 16-19 by locating them in the case 1 with a slope. |
