PURPOSE:To stop the melody information at the closing of a cash box or at the time of key input, by providing a means which detects the closing of the cash box and key input operation with the cash register which generats the melody information when the cash box is opened. CONSTITUTION:When a customer stops transaction, CPU3 obtains the total transaction amount and it is stored in the memory 7 and displayed on the display 10, printed on the receipt at the printer 9 and the receipt is given to the customer. In this case, the total amount is informed from the speaker 16 via the audio informing means 11-14. On the other hand, CPU3 receives the end signal of transaction, opens the cash box 19, and when the status detection means 22 detects the end of audio information, the melody generating means 23 is driven and melody information is informed from the speaker 16. When the box 19 is closed, the operation of the means 23 is inhibited with the status detection means 24 and the melody information is stopped. In processing while opening the box 19, the key input operation 4 is detected at the detection means 27, the operation of the means 23 is inhibited and the melody information is stopped. |
