<p>Fabrics for use in a variety of applications, including aeronautical construction, are prepared from mineral or synthetic fibres in tows or slivers of loose parallel fibres. Edging for each of the tows is provided of more rigid fibres, to prevent the looser inner fibres from buckling at the edges. The fabrics, by reason of the distribution of the fibres, are perforated by regularly distributed small holes which may be blocked easily by subsequent synthetic resin coatings.</p> |
