A gasket seal is used to close the aperture where the electrical unit is mounted into the equipment casing. A gasket (3) on a supporting plate (2) covers, and is the same format as, the aperture in the equipment casing (11). The rim (6) of the gasket (3) is raised for clamping under a rim support frame (5) holding the gasket tightly onto the equipment casing. The switch button (12) covers the gasket. An alternative gasket for sealing the sides of plug in units uses a double sided structure across the aperture used for mounting the socket.
