The housing retains a transformer module containing a coil-former with a primary coil, secondary coil, and a laminated core. The housing is of trough, or pot-shaped design and has connecting fins, each with a securing section on the coil-former. To these fins are secured the coil wire ends, the fins having externally accessible connecting section for lead wires. The inner chamber (36) of the housing (12) and main part (32) has an extended wall (39) formed integrally with the housing, which protrudes over a shoulder section (33) against the inserting direction of the transformer module. Each connecting fin (25) has an extended wire securing section (31) between the fastening section (26) and the connecting section (27). The wire securing section is guided into the region of the externally accessible aperture (37) due to a bend (38) over the free front end edge of the wall.
