PURPOSE:To increase the amount of brake fluid discharged while retaining operatability by a method wherein the master cylinder of a brake used for a vehicle is provided with the second cylinder incorporating an operating cylinder operated by an actuator through a compensating hole and a communicating hole. CONSTITUTION:When an operating rod 203 is moved leftwards by operating a brake lever, air is introduced into a left chamber 202 of a booster 200 to cause a primary piston 103 of the master cylinder 100 leftwards to move leftwards, discharging the brake fluid through ports 124, 127. On the other hand, the air in the left chamber 202 flows through a pipe 145 into a lower chamber 146 of a vacuum motor 132, thereby moving the operating piston 131 in the second cylinder 130 upwards, so that the fluid in an upper chamber 137 is caused to flow into a fluid chamber 109. In this case, by making the increase of fluid pressure in the fluid chambers 137, 109 swifter and greater than that in a fluid chamber 108, the amount of the brake fluid discharged can be increased while retaining the operatability. |
