PURPOSE:To readily obtain a superconductor having high critical temperature and useful in various kind of electroconductors, by treating a sintered compact obtained by molding and sintering raw material powders of Y, etc., under oxygen-containing atmosphere at prescribed temperature in order to increase oxygen content in the sintered compact and rapidly cooling the sintered compact. CONSTITUTION:Raw material powders consisting of Y2O3, BaCO3 and CuO are subjected to wet mixing so that an atomic ratio of Y:Ba:Cu is 1:2:3 to afford a mixed powder, which is subjected to preliminary burning in oxygen- containing atmosphere at 800-900 deg.C and ground to afford a powder having <=100mum and the resultant powder is molded to give moldings. Then the moldings are sintered under oxygen-containing atmosphere at 850-950 deg.C and the temperature is then lowered at a rate of 1-10 deg.C/min and the sintered moldings are subjected to treatment maintained between 420-700 deg.C for 1-5hr to contain an oxygen content in the moldings so that delta in a chemical formula expressed by the formula (Lu is Y, Sc or lanthanoids element) is 0-0.3. The moldings are rapidly cooled at a rate of <=50 deg.C/min from 420 deg.C to 300 deg.C to provide the aimed Ln-Ba-Cu-O based superconductor. |
