PURPOSE:To increase the mechanicl strength and efficiency by covering the sides facing the material to be checked of an exciting coil and a transmitting and receiving coil with a nonmagnetic material and magnetic material having nonconductive property. CONSTITUTION:The exciting coil 2 for generating DC magnetic fields is wound around a legged core 3 in a shell or core shape. The transmitting and receiving coil 4 for generating eddy current in the material to be tested is provided at the end of the leg part of the core 3. In the electromagnetic ultrasonic wave probe, which is constituted in this way, the bottom plate of the probe is divided into two pats, a holding plate 7 for the DC exciting coil 2 and a protecting plate 6 for the transmitting and receiving coil 4. The required strength of the holding plate 7 is secured by using the nonmagnetic material such as stainless steel and the like in order to protect the exciting coil 2. As the material for the protecting plate 6, a nonconductive, high permeability material such as ferrite and the like is used. Thus, the DC magnetic flux and the varying magnetic fluxes can be transmitted to the material to be checked efficiently, and the transmitting and receiving coil 4 can be protected. |
