An apparatus for cutting elastomer sealing strips to a mitre is intended esp. for strips of T or L section. The cutting apparatus comprises two sets of jaws (4a, 4b; 5a; 5b) which clamp the strip firmly. The facing sides of these two jaws define a V-shaped space (10) of the intended mitred angle. Two cutting blades (20) are used, and these descend obliquely towards the base (11) of this V-shaped space. Specifically one flange of the section (A) is longer than the other (B), and it is the longer flange which is to be cut obliquely, the parting planes (6,7) of the sets of jaws are oriented parallel to this longer flange and the direction of the cut (21) is therefore along the flange. |
