PURPOSE:To improve the corrosion resistant property of a cell post, by producing it through a plastic machining of a cast lead alloy. CONSTITUTION:Upon producing a cell post to be used at a sealing part of a cover of a lead acid battery, a lead alloy is casted in a mold and then subjected to a cold plastic machining. It is preferred to anneal the thus-plastic machined lead alloy. By doing so, it is possible to eliminate any casting defects and thus to obtain a good lead alloy cell post which is free of segregation and has a stable structure. As the lead alloy, is employed a lead alloy for cell posts, which is principally made of lead and contains about 3-7% of antimony. |
