PURPOSE:To provide a recording material using as a developer a sulfonyldiphenol compound treated under special conditions and which has a small change of developing ability with time and is excellent in solvent resistance and water resistance as well as has a developing surface decreased in yellowing. CONSTITUTION:Ten parts of a sulfonyldiphenol compound of the formula (R1 and R2 are alkyl of H and less than C4) [example: 4-(4-hydroxyphenylsulfonyl)phenol, 4-(2-hydroxyphenyl-sulfonyl)phenol or the like] as a developer, and 5-500 parts, preferably 20-100 parts of an inorganic pigment [example: a combination series of a basic pigment such as Al(OH)3, CaCO3 or the like and a clay such as acid clay or the like] are made to co-exist and treated by a disperser using a medium (example: sand mill, ball mill or the like) so that the pH of the dispersion is 7-9 to form a composition, which is used as a recording material. |
