发明名称 COMPOSITE ELECTRODE WIRE FOR WIRE-CUT SPARK MACHINING
摘要 PURPOSE:To improve the finished surfaces and dimensional accuracy of a work, by covering hard steel wire with a 0.1-20mu thick alloy layer of Cu containing 20-50% of Zn. CONSTITUTION:Hard steel wire of designed caliber, such as piano wire of JISG3502 or JISG3506, is covered with a 0.1-20mu thick alloy layer of Cu containing 20- 50% of Zn to produce composite electrode wire. This kind of electrode wire is as strong as that of tungsten, because of the hard steel wire as its core. This makes it possible to apply great tension to the electrode for leaving a certain space between the electrode and a work, preventing the space from being changed due to deflection of the electrode wire and also eliminating uneven electric discharge and irregularity on the finished surfaces. Spark machining with this electrode wire can improve the finish and dimensional accuracy of the work.
